Sometimes if there's a lot happening at once and there's more than two people posting in the same thread, it gets very busy and users start posting at the same time as one another. This often leads to mismatched posts and contradictions. The best plan of action is to refresh the page before you send your post to make sure that nobody else has responded before you, rendering your post invalid or incorrect with the events.
If you manage to post and somebody's posted before you, you'll need to edit. Please note that it is always the last person to post who needs to edit. If you post and then somebody else posts a second later with something that would've been fine had you not posted, do not edit. Chances are they'll be doing the same thing, and you'll both submit it only to find that your posts contradict one another once again.
If you look in a thread and see that the most recent post is a mistake, and this has happened, do not post until it has been edited. If the user is no longer online, PM a member of staff who will take care of things. Unfortunately if there is not one online, you will have to wait, but be patient because someone will be on soon.
Often, though, the best way to get rid of a post that needs heavy editing is to just edit it, write the word "Delete" or something akin to this, and do a completely new post. This means that other users won't respond to your incorrect post by mistake and, though it doesn't look great, can be rectified quickly.
