Cassidy was born Amelia Ray, in a small town just off the outskirts of Vancouver in Canada. She lived a pretty average childhood until she fell in with the wrong crowd during her freshman year at WSU (Washington State University Vancouver).
Her involvment will Anthony Briggs A.K.A AB's was a short but unforgettable affair.

AB's being a member of Adam Rudder's drug opperation thought that WSU was the perfect cover for him and his friends, but instead of hiding they went into overdrive, smuggling big time, with the profits rolling in it wasn't long until they were found out.

Amelia knew that sooner or later they were going to fall...hard. So on the night of there last shippment she informed the police.

That night in mid-October, a joint Vancouver, Burnaby, and New Westminster police action swept 72 alleged drug dealers from the streets. The combined operation was titled 'Project Scoop'.

Now with her ex behind bars Amelia Ray was placed under witness protection under the alias Cassidy.

She flew to San Fran 2 weeks after the heist and found out about her new powers on the plane journey when she acidently set a newspaper on fire when a flight attendent shocked her and woke her up.
