This is the chamber that holds most of the pyramid's value. Treasure lies everywhere: in cases; as gold coins scattered in heaps across the floor; in piles of jewellery giving weight to stone tables; in statues of the Death God, Anubis, with rubies as eyes and emeralds for teeth in the versions his mouth is open to catch the souls of the dead; in ankh necklaces with diamond strings; anything you can imagine lies here. There are chests with locks, but keys lie scattered around the room. At one end, where the floor rises to almost half the height of the chamber, a large chest with hundreds of heiroglyphs on it sits.

::The torchlight catches on the various piles of treasure and Dante squeaks::

"TREASURE!"

::Aidan appears close to Dante, but not too close, in a swirl of air, he looks around the room in awe, completely amazed by the amount of treasure and gold there is. He has seen this stuff in books but he's seeing it for real right now...::

(Don't steal any...)

::Luke enters with Dar in his arms. He looks to the treasure, though he's moderately impressed at best.::

::Veronica grabs Dante and pulls him back.::

"Remember what happened the last time you went after treasure!"

::Sharon's here too, now.::

"Did you people steal the ring too?"

::Dante whines and withdraws his hand from the big diamond he was reaching for and gestures offhandedly at Sharon, not taking his eyes off the jewels::

"She did."

"I wouldn't call it 'stealing', exactly."

"Attempted theft."

"That's... that's actually more accurate."

::He looks around the chamber some more, frowning.::

"What would be handy right about now is a magical lamp with a genie to take us back home."

"Has anyone tried a spell?"

::Sharon looks around the place, utterly dazzled, and wanders over to a pile of neckaces.::

(Sholdn't touch, really...)

"The place is guarded from magical escape. At least via orbing. You're welcome to try something but I doubt it'll work."

"Well, how about..."

::Aidan attempts a spell to show them the path to escape from this place.::

"Powers that be, make signs appear,
Make the escape route, very clear."

::Veronica ignores Aidan's rambling since nothing happened and has a proper look around herself.::

(Everything looks so... clean...)

::Which is astounding and highly pleasurable for her.::

"I guess magic is a no."

::Aidan says, wondering if he was the only witch there.::

"Maybe you just suck, n00b."

"You have dirt, right there."

::He points to her face, looking a little disgusted.::

::Veronica just shakes her head and turns away. She is so above Aidan.::

"When they made these things, did they block off the doorways once they were done?"

"I think they also let the Pharoah's slaves die in here too, that's why they sealed the doors."

::He shrugs and looks to the giant treasure chest.::

"Maybe there's something useful in this room."

"An emergency exit door sounds handy right about now."

::Luke glances down to Dar's unconscious form.::

(I can't believe she's still out cold. I could only imagine how worse off she would have been if I didn't tell her about magic ages ago.)

::His visual attention is re-centered on the room, eyeing the chest as well.::

"I realize that this will be hard given all of the gold scattered about, but try searching for the key to that chest."

"If our powers work, which they seem to, I might well be able to just concentrate and get rid of the lid as I touch it, and return it once you look inside. Not sure if I can work with large items though, I've only tried with things I can hold."

(Or...)

"Or if that doesn't work, you can transform into air, slide through the keyhole, grab whatever's inside and bring it out with you."

"What if it's a really big item and I get squashed?"

"I was suggesting that as an alternative should your plan not work. Also, I was under the assumption that you'd remain as an airy entity but materializing just your hand long enough to grab whatever's inside and transform it, along with your hand, back into the air.

But that's probably a bit too complicated for someone at your stage since you're worrying about getting stuck inside."

::Aidan rolls his eyes.::

(At least I have a power.)

"I can try."

::Aidan dematerialises and reappears next to the chest. He looks at it and presses his hands against the lid firmly. He then attempts to vaporise, however, taking the chest lid with him::

::While Aidan attempts his feat, a thought crosses Luke's mind.::

(You know what? Veronica could've easily made a key.)

::He shrugs and keeps this to himself as he waits.::

[It doesn't work.]

::Now, he opens his mouth.::

"Veronica, could you help Aidan with that chest by making a key to unlock it?"

::Smug that Aidan's a loser, Veronica walks over to the chest. She does, however, think that since his power didn't work, hers might not too.::

"It won't work."

::She creates a key anyway. It's a solid object in seconds. She puts it into the hole and tries to turn it.::

[She's right. It doesn't work.]

::Sharon can't resist any longer. They're already trapped in some pyramid, touching some more jewellery can't hurt! She slowly picks up one fo the necklaces and drapes it between her fingers, spreading the chain out so that she can examine it.::

(I wonder if... anyone would mind if I kept this. Surely no one's using these things.)

"Any luck?"

"Maybe I can..."

::Dante, having phasing, concentrates on putting his hand through the chest. After quite a lot of false starts and bruised fingers his hand slips through and he tries to grab something from inside::

[Nope.]

"Stupid goddamn power!"

::He pulls his hand out and kicks at the chest, but his foot passes through. He almost overbalances and then glares at Sharon and the chest, the vehemence being shared equally between them::

"Hmm. If your powers can't open it, then there is obviously something of value in there. Maybe a way out."

(Or something.)

"I ain't finished yet."

::Dante bends down so he's at eye level with the keyhole and acquires onto telekinesis. With the light from the torch he can see better inside and he tries to telekinetically manipulate the lock mechanism. His brow wrinkles with concentration as he tentatively probes the lock::

[No, god dammit!]

"Is your staring working?"
