A winding network of passageways through the pyramid. It's nigh-impossible not to get lost in these, losing hope as easily as bodies. There are just too many of them. And many of them are booby-trapped against grave-robbers. Sometimes the ground just disappears into a pit with long metal spikes at the bottom; sometimes a trigger will send poisoned darts into whomever set it off. Tread carefully. Dotted throughout the passages are many openings in walls to the chute.

::Dar's in here now. She squints into the darkness lit by torches, wondering what direction to go in.::

(Best wait for the others or I'll be on my own.)

::Luke's here now.::

"You could've waited for someone to go with you into the unknown, you know. Lord knows what random things could've happened like... like... the Egyptian mafia planting venomous snakes around the pyramid."

::Dar looks more than averagely worried now.::

"Dar? I wasn't being serious."

(At least I hope so.)

"Just calm down and try not go off alone while we're stuck here."

"Yeah, or you might end up down a hole."

::Dante says as he walks out. He orbs on the spot to get rid of the power and wonders which would be good to take next. In the mean time he pulls a torch off the wall and walks slowly up and the passage::

::Luke follows Dante's lead by pulling down two more torches, handing one to Dar.::

"Probably should wait for Veronica and Sharon."

::Dante led Veronica in with him::

"Veronica is right there. Did that fall mess with your head?"

"It's possible."

::His eyes wander back to Dar and the torch in her hand.::

"Don't set the place on fire like you did P3 and Quake."

::This is said in a joking manner, of course.::

::Sharon quickly catches up with everyone, eyeing their torches worriedly.::

"Be careful with those. You don't want to lose your hair."

::Luke allows Sharon and Dar to pass him.::

"I'll stay in the back to guard. Stay in front of me, since I'm sure Lenin will have even more issues with me if you don't return in one piece."

(I doubt that.)

::Sharon's eyes close for a second as she remembers with utter shame the last time she saw him, but she quickly supresses it.::

"Fine, but I'd rather not go first."

::Veronica sighs and moves to the front of the line, shoving past Dar. She creates a glowing ball of light in front of her and pushes it into the air. It lights the passage ahead. She concentrates on making the projection as much like the sun as possible. She wants to create the sun. No heat is felt, though, but it is bright. She starts to lead, keeping an eye out for anything scary.::

::Dante hurries to keep up with her, wondering if he could create a projection like that::

"See anything up there, yet?"

::Luke calls out, constantly glancing behind them.::

"Dust."

"I meant like doors, portals, whatever to get out."

::He ponders on this for a moment, recalling how they entered this pyramid in the first time, then continues.::

"Maybe we have to leave the same way we came in. A mummy throwing us into a sarcophagus leading us back home."

[Sharon steps on a trigger and there's a loud grating sound.]

::Veronica stops in her tracks.::

"What was that?"

::Sharon whips her head round and stops moving, wondering what Luke's done now.::

::The girl turns around to look at the others in the line behind her.::

"Well??"

::Dar looks afraid but unsure.::

"I have no clue."

::Sharon nods her to Luke.::

"I thought it came from near him."

::Dar tuts loudly and mutters.::

"Typical."

[There's more groaning of stone grinding against stone, then a low rumbling sound, which is slowly getting louder.]

::Sharon starts to look even more worried, visions of big stone balls dropping onto them filling her head.::

"Maybe we should keep moving."

"Yeah. Let's do that."

::Luke turns around, holding out his torch to look behind them, though he sees nothing threatening.::

"If we don't know where we're going we might walk towards it."

::He keeps moving forwards anyway::

"And if we stay still it might move towards us. It sounds like it is anyway."

::Memories come to Sharon of Saturday afternoons many years ago when she'd been forced to watch Indiana Jones films with a terrified Andrea.::

"That may be the case but what if it's behind us but hidden? Or even worse, that we're there right this second."

[Hey, good guess Sharon! A huge boulder is coming towards the heroes at a rapid speed. You could do a Team Rocket and RUN! but you'd end up getting blasted away. To death. Other than jumping through a hole and into the pit, you have one post each to try to work out what it is. These posts may overlap and conflict with one another. One of you has the power to save the others, but who? Dante, we wish to remind you that you're stuck with orbing currently, unless you're not, but you've only used it once so ner. Once all of you have made your post, if one is correct, the remaining four will be deleted (or the result to each one will be posted, which might be quite fun - state in the storylines thread if you'd like this) and everything will be hunky dory. If there isn't one correct... oooh... ooooh... BLASTED OFF AGAIN! Have fun!]

::Veronica cries out quietly in shock, then moves back into a defensive stance while she tries her hardest to project a brick wall between them and the boulder. Her breathing comes out fast and hard, eyes wide, and the wall glimmers in the light before solidifying into bricks as big as she can make them. She moves back a little and works on expanding the wall so it's as thick as she can make it, but such huge creation is difficult and draining on her skill level.::

::Dante isn't stuck with orbing but takes orbing anyway. He knows he's not strong enough with any offensive powers to stop the boulder, not even his often used telekinesis. As the boulder moves closer he pulls everyone in and begins orbing them out, trying to time it so the boulder would pass them before they were forced to reform by whatever was stopping proper teleportation::

::Dar puts both hands by her face and screams.::

::Seeing that there isn't much time before the boulder reaches them, Luke does the only thing he can think of at the moment and shoves the others through the holes leading to the pit, one by one.::

::Utterly terrified, there's only one thing Sharon does automatically, apart from scream, and that's phase. So she does that, and on the spur of the moment tries to grab onto everyone else in the vain hope that they'll phase with her. But considering how often she practices her power, how likely is that?::

Veronica.

The wall Veronica made is sturdy and thick. Really thick. It should stop the bo- oh, wait, no, it's just smashed right through it. Several of the bricks shoot forward and smash Vero in the face, killing her and her body falls backwards into the others, knocking Dante and Dar over since they were next in line. The boulder careens over their bodies, crushing them both to death before mercilessly creaming Sharon and Luke against a wall, one on either side, a fine human paste (of death).

Better practice s'more, Vero.

Dante

The brave group of heroes disappear in a cloud of orbs, and reappear somewhere mid-boulder. There's a very, very short battle over who deserves to occupy the space they both want, bones or rock, and rock wins. Everybody dies, though it's difficult to explain how, exactly.

Dar

Need I bother? Splatsplatsplatsplatsplat!

Luke

Our heroes all fall into the pit, probably landing on one another and crushing each other to death from all the falling and tumbling on the way down. Maybe? (I'm sure they landed fine).

Sharon

Hey, who's a clever Molly then? Everybody goes see-through and feel-through and Sharon walks them forward when the boulder hits - but it doesn't. It goes right through and continues down, where it eventually enters another passage and drops down a hole. There's a long pause, then a distant thud. Long drop.

Both Luke and Sharon's responses were successful (though Dar's was close), however, since Sharon posted the reply we were looking for, you may continue from that situation.

::Utterly shocked, Sharon lets go of everyone and steps back against the wall.::

"Holy feck that was terrifying."

::Dar faints from all the excitement.::

::Luke barely catches Dar, for he is a little disoriented from the phasing and falls down himself.::

"What the fuck was that...?"
