Title: The Office

Jason Dean - March 27, 2004 03:12 PM (GMT)
::Jason walks outside the building and sticks a poster on the wall.::

"And I asked Stacey to post this weeks ago."

::The sign reads;

Wanted:

Enthusiastic young reporter to write a weekly report on the events in the World. All major happenings should be recorded, as well as minor, and anything of significance noted.

Having pasted it up, Jason returns inside and waits for the calls to come flooding in.::

"Although I'd prefer one to one interviews."

Aideen - July 27, 2004 12:42 AM (GMT)
::Aideen shimmers in, behind a corner just outside the building. Checking to make sure she wasn't spotted, she walks inside. She looks around, and sees Elise ranting at some defenseless underling. Recognizing the look of a pained, constipated authority figure, Aideen walks confidently over to the scowling woman, standing just behind her, waiting to finish her tirade.::

Elise - August 11, 2004 11:37 PM (GMT)
::Elise, busy shouting at one of the lame ass staff, notices the young lady enter. After spitting out her final few words and reducing said staff to tears she turns and faces the stranger, a stony gaze on her face.::

"Can I help you?"

Aideen - August 12, 2004 12:16 AM (GMT)
::Aideen smiles politely at Elise, flipping her hair over her flawless tanned shoulders.::

"Hi! I heard somewhere that I might find employment here. I was a reporter for the New York Times, but my, due to a family emergency, I was forced to relocate to San Francisco. I was hoping you might have a place for me here at the..."

::She quickly flits her eyes over to a sign on the wall, trying not to draw attention to it.::

"...Bay Mirror. I think you'll find that I'm really quite versitile when it comes to my writing and reporting skills, and I think I could be a real asset to your little paper."

Elise - August 12, 2004 12:52 AM (GMT)
::Elise surveys Aideen with a harsh glare. Then she yells erratically as she clenches her hands into fists to the side of her head.::

"I'm busy! Come back when I haven't got idiotic workers to harass."

::She storms off, turning back to Aideen.::

"And i'm just the editor, what do you expect me to do?"

::She continues to storm into one of the offices somewhere.::

Faith Edwards - August 16, 2004 12:54 PM (GMT)
::Faith enters the hectic zone of the Bay Mirror office. She looks around the room at the chaos, and hoped she wasn't going to be disappointed in looking for a job here.::

(Now...who do I speak to about getting a job?)

::She spots a middle-aged woman across the room, who had just said she was the Editor. Smiling brightly, she walks up. But just as she does, the woman had stormed away.::

"So, is it always this busy around here?"

::She frowns, and stands with her hands on her hips next to Aideen, staring off into the direction Elise dashed off in. Sighing a little, she turns to the girl next to her, and tries to make the best of the meeting.::

"Hey, I'm Faith. New in town, and I'm looking for a job too. Guess we think alike, huh?"

::She gestured around the room, before continuing.::

"You? What's your name?"

Aideen - August 21, 2004 07:55 PM (GMT)
::Aideen turns to Faith and laughs a little.::

"I suppose so. I'm Aideen."

::She extends her hand to Faith.::

Faith Edwards - August 24, 2004 11:49 AM (GMT)
::Faith takes her offered hand, and gives her patented smirky smile. Nodding at the door Elise bustled through, Faith crosses her arms.::

"She always that jittery and crazy, or is today extra special?"

::Taking around quick look around the room, Faith frowns slightly.::

"I don't suppose you'd know if they are actually any open posts around here?"

Aideen - August 27, 2004 01:03 AM (GMT)
::Aideen pulls back her hand and looks around.::

"I honestly have no idea. I don't have time for this. Good luck Faith. Maybe I will see you around."

::She walks into the ladies' room and shimmers out to the Market.::

Faith Edwards - August 31, 2004 01:42 PM (GMT)
::Slightly takenaback by Aideen's sudden decision to leave, Faith frowns.::

(Well, I guess it's safe to say I won't be finding any work in this place any time soon. Maybe I should get going too.)

::Knowing that no one would even notice, Faith turns on her heels and walks out of The Bay Mirror::

(I'll just go find work elsewhere.)

Phoebe - January 12, 2006 05:42 PM (GMT)
::Phoebe walks through the busy office with a styrofoam cup of crappy machine coffee and tries not to get knocked over. She smiles and greets various people, gets her mail, and walks into her office.::

Luke - January 16, 2007 08:52 PM (GMT)
::Luke takes a seat at his long, abandoned desk and starts working on the story, enjoying the busy working environment for a change instead of working at home as he usually does.::

Luke - January 17, 2007 04:58 AM (GMT)
::Luke's relaxation ends as the laptop before him manages to piss him off again. He looks for an open window and scans the sidewalk below to make sure that no one else is in the way when he drops the bastard. Then of course, he sees Phoebe's office door, forcing him to recall that she works here and she would be told about his aggressive behavior with crap technology. Taking a deep breath, Luke acts calm like a whitelighter is supposed to be and handwrites a brief article and submits it. He leaves and takes to the streets.::

Luke - January 21, 2007 08:56 PM (GMT)
::Luke enters the empty office and borrows one of the other reporters' desks. He types in his user name and password and as he waits to be put into the system, Luke's glance accidentally falls onto Phoebe's office door. He groans to himself, remembering that today was the first time she called him her boyfriend but he managed to get dumped a few hours later. Luke turns back to the computer screen to distract himself from that for the moment and decides that it's best to start the article from scratch. He starts typing...::

Jason Dean - January 21, 2007 09:17 PM (GMT)
"Make sure you save periodically this time, huh?"

::Jason advices as he walks past.::

Luke - January 22, 2007 03:12 AM (GMT)
::And boy does he. Luke submits the article upon completion, logs out and walks to the reception area.::

Luke - December 11, 2007 01:52 PM (GMT)
::Luke enters the bullpen, trying his best to avoid the stares of the other reporters. It had been months since he had stopped writing for the paper altogether and when he did work here, he always did his articles at home.::

(Okay, Luke. You can do this. You need to do this.)

::His slight expression of discomfort somewhat fades as he puts up a fake smile and continues onward to the editor's office.::
