It's a smallish, dark and gloomy underground cave. There are flame torches on the walls, lighting the place sufficiently enough. There are passages, two of them, but walking out one will simply lead in a loop that re-enters the cave through the other side.

::Luke appears here. His powers don't seem to be working.::

::It takes a moment for Luke to realize that he's no longer in the company of the others, though at least now, he doesn't have to worry about that mask's jeering intonations. He eyes the cavern walls, grateful for the sufficient light and walks along the path. It reminds him of the roads leading into the Underworld, so he wonders how to leave the place. He decides that it's best if he orb out of the area, though he finds his powers inaccessible. Right now, he wants to leave and he follows the trail out of the cave... only to find himself back to where he started.::

(The fuck?)

::Danielle's there.::

"Heyyyy, Luke!"

::She's leaning against the wall, her arms folded across her chest.::

"Danielle..."

::Luke looks to the girl, somewhat skeptical about how she's standing there right now after the tricks the mask has pulled on him and the party. Ironically, all of this mindfucking makes him skeptical about his skepticism as well (make sense of that, if you can). He finds much relief in her being there, that she's okay and no longer threatened. He slowly approaches her.::

"... you're all right."

::Danielle smiles and pushes herself away from the wall.::

"Yep. I got away. I knew that bitch wasn't my aunt."

::She pauses, looking sheepish for having swore in front of an adult.::

"... sorry."

::Luke grins at Danielle, forgiving her goddamned filthy mouth.::

"It's okay; she was one. How'd you do it? Get away from her?"

::He looks down to her, interested in hearing the account.::

"She wanted to enrol me into some demonic training school that'd turn me into one of them. It was really..."

::Danielle pauses for a moment, then nods.::

"It was scary. But I met these women who promised me that they'd get me out. And they did."

::She smiles now, obviously grateful for what happened.::

"Oh. Maybe I should thank these women."

(It can't be the Charmed Ones since they're... well, Paige and Piper were gone before I left.)

"Did they say who they were?"

"One was called Emily and the other Abby. They were really nice. Abby was really pretty."

::She nods again, smiling at the memory.::

"They took me in to their family. It was really neat, Luke. I feel like I belong somewhere now."

"That's... that's good."

::Luke smiles to her, recalling how alone Danielle felt after her mother's death.::

"Where do they live?"

"Close."

::Danielle has started walking towards Luke with an odd smile on her face. Her hips sway slowly as she moves and her tongue darts out to moisten her lips.::

::Luke narrows his eyes at Danielle's strange expression and actions; they're making him incredibly uncomfortable.::

"How about you show me where it is?"

"Sure."

::Danielle starts walking along the tunnel. It soon brings her into darkness and when Luke follows, he'll reappear in the main cave alone as Danielle seems to have disappeared.::

::As expected, Luke follows here into the cavern and... finds himself back where he started.::

(Where the hell is she?)

::Luke walks back the other way, thinking that maybe she'll be there. However, that seems to be a fruitless attempt and he's back in the cave.::

(What is going on?)

::Danielle's unmistakable giggle resonates through the cave.::

"Danielle?!"

::He calls out to the direction he believes the laughter came from and starts to walk down that way.::

"Are you down there?"

::Dani giggles again, this time it seems behind Luke.::

::Luke quickly jerks his head into said direction.::

"Quit playin' around, kiddo! We need to get outta here!"

"I'm not playing."

::She's still nowhere to be seen.::

"This is not a game, Luke."

"I know it's not. You're making it into one, but it's time be more serious, 'cause we gotta get outta here."

::Luke paces towards the direction he believes Danielle is located.::

"We're not going anywhere."

::Danielle appears, as if growing from the air itself, in front of Luke. She looks totally calm.::

"Must've sucked when you lost me, huh? Bet you were scared."

::Luke frowns at Danielle's comment about not leaving, a greater sense of urgency flooding through his words.::

"Yeah, I was worried about you. And we'll need to get you outta here to keep you safe from other demons like Elaine."

"Elaine? Oh, she's hardly scary any more."

::Danielle smiles sweetly as she sways towards Luke.::

"I can look after myself now. Even though you can't. How many charges have you lost now?"

::Luke's jaw drops in dismay, finding the words piercing his spirit. He hadn't expected something like that to come from Danielle's mouth. Luke remains silent, wondering how she knew all of this.::

"Three, is it? Do you even remember their names? How many died? All of them?"

"Only one died."

::At least one out of four he knows for sure is dead. Danielle is in front him, and Azura and Valerie are unknown to him. When he lists these witches in his mind, he is reminded of the mask again, particularly because of Azura's disappearance from the moon and his sudden arrival in this endless cavern. Now thinking this to be one of its many deceptive head games, Luke tries defending himself, though the justifications don't ease his mind one bit.::

"But it was a circumstance beyond my control."

"Some whitelighter. I'm the fourth, huh? Wow. That's bad."

"I'm... not necessarily the best whitelighter, but..."

::Luke is uncertain as to how he wants to phrase his words. While he considers that the mask is still taunting him, he still feels as though he has to act this way towards Danielle; he doesn't want to look like the bad guy she's making him out to be.::

"... I'm not the worst."

::Of course, these words come out with an air of self-doubt.::

::Danielle laughs spitefully.::

"Yeah. Because you did such a bang-up job with me. Thanks for keeping me alive, Luke. Thanks for letting them get me so that in death I didn't even get to see my mother."

::She grits her teeth. Her canines aren't normal: they're vampire fangs.::

::Luke stares in disbelief, the vampiric fangs only depressing him further. This is a trick, isn't it? However, he just feels as though he is falling into the same ruts of failure over and over again, so finding her as a vampire and discovering his inability to save her just makes matters worse. It is starting to feel as though this is real.::

"No..."

"And it is real, Luke. This isn't some vision Majora has cooked up for you. He's sent you back so you can see how you've failed. Yet again."

::She licks her lips.::

"You know... without your powers, you're human."

::Luke starts backing away from Danielle, trying again to orb out, but to no avail.::

"C'mon, Danielle. We can fix this! There's this elixir that can reverse this... transformation. It's not too late!"

::But does Luke really believe that there's still time? Can he even make two steps out of the cave and implement this course of action?::

::Danielle chuckles.::

"I don't think so."

::She advances further, seeming to relish this feeling of intimidation, of making him feel the pain of loss and failure. Because she feels so good herself.::

::Luke is finding "Danielle's" demeanor increasingly bothersome. He glances at Danielle, then the torches affixed to the walls and back to her again.::

"Why not...?"

"Mm."

::Dani stops and smiles.::

"I'm hungry."

::That's her reason as she suddenly lunges at him with a hissing sound, fangs bared. She's incredibly strong and agile, much more than she was before the change.::

::Luke tries to move out of the way, but he's a slow, non-orbing human, so he's tackled by Danielle and tries to wriggle out of her hold.::

"You know, Luke, I always thought you were kinda hot. For an old guy."

::She goes for his neck.::

::The situation is getting more awkward by the moment. The jailbait magnet cranes his neck away from the fangs while trying to pry Danielle off somehow with his feet, or any free part of his body, really.::

::Danielle is dislodged when Luke manages to entangle their feet, and lands at an angle beside him, their legs still locked together. She struggles to pull free so she can attack him again.::
