I think it's time that I let you guys know that this storyline on ACW is going to be its last ever. Uck. This thread is going to be difficult for me to write.

I have been running A Charmed World for around, I don't know, four years maybe? Maybe more, maybe less, on different sites until we finally grabbed this one. We've been here, and open, since the 13th December 2003 and I think it's incredible that the site is still going, still strong, after all this time.

But that time has come to an end now. Don't get me wrong, I love ACW, and probably the most out of everybody. Put together. To the power of ten. But I can't do it any more. That's not to say it's stressing me out or anything. It's that I'm 22 in ten days; I'm entering my last year at university; I'm making new friends and as much as it pains me, running ACW is just not good for my life any more. Sure, whenever I think about doing it, I start to feel all terrible and scared - after all, it's been a pathetically huge part of my life for years now, as it has been with many of you - but this is it. To continue in a melodramatic vein, I need to get my life back. I think to times I've basically been offline hanging about with mates, last summer, and that's when I know I need to close. I need something less to distract myself with while trying to study for fourth year and my exams that are swiftly approaching.

Okay, that's enough of my excuses.

What I just want to say is a serious thank you to all of our members. For posting, for making me laugh, for stressing me out, for making me blisteringly angry and frustrated... thanks for following my subtle and blatant hints and manipulations in game and out; and thanks for doing something so unexpected as to what I wanted that there's a while of panic while I try to salvage my plans. Thanks for being nice, and thanks for being nasty. Most of you are all awesome dudes. Especially Jasmine. Oh, wait...

The staff... well, you guys are brilliant. Brilliant friends, that is. As staff, you were a... well, you were someone to chat to in the staff threads. Okay, that's a lie. You've each of you done a lot for me and while I so could've done it all without you, I'm glad you were all there. I loved seeing your NPC posts by surprise, and when you took on storylines yourselves, and seeing how you added a little variety to my style. And I loved seeing you going as mental bitching about something happening as I did. Good times.

I'm not really sure what else to say. I don't know when the site will end. I think it'll still be a while, yet. I don't think I'll do it before my exams start, anyway, and I get my first take-home essay on the... uh... somethingth of April. Crap, I think it's the 13th. See, this is why I need to close the bloody site! Anyway. I hope you guys all cooperate with me on this one and try to post at any opportunity you have. In turn, I apologise for going too fast in some bits, and too slow in others, and crappy organisational skills. You know how it is.

What else? A favour, I suppose. I know that the desire to make the board go out with a bang is probably something you're all interested in. But please don't do any OOC Apocalyptic stuff like committing suicide just because you can. That will supremely annoy me. Especially if I have plans for things that need to happen. Please just post like you normally would, as much as you can (like if an NPC has posted and you need to respond, please do) and just enjoy the last story.

It's been a wonderful time, guys. Thank you.

I'll miss this place for its wonder distractions from schoolwork.

Dear all,

Some of you have possibly felt that this has been being dragged out a bit. Admittedly, it has, for several reasons. The main one being the obvious - I don't want to close. I love the site and ending it upsets me. However, and more importantly, I was struggling to come up with a satisfactory 'ending'. I went through all sorts of ideas, from one extreme to the other, involving abruptness, polls (yes, I was going to put something to you guys) and everything you can think of.

Well, today in the shower - where I do all my best thinking, of course - I came up with what should be a perfect ending. For me, at least :P

What this post is asking, basically, is that you all give it your best for me. I'm sorry if this has been dragged on a bit, but it is almost over. Post lots, go crazy (without being stupid), and you never know what might happen. It makes me happy to see a lot of member posts so keep 'em up and I'll make the NPC posts even better for you. Even you, Andrea. Even you.

Once again, thank you for taking part in ACW and making the board a pleasure for so many years.
