To All Members of ACW

Well, everybody, that's it. A Charmed World has officially closed and I have to say that I'm pretty cut up about it. This site has taken time, dedication, imagination, love (eww) and effort from me for a good many years. And like letting go of anything you love, it's been really difficult for me to do this. ACW has given me so much over the years, and I'm sure I don't have to go into details in order for you to understand. I've had a brilliant time being the administrator of this board. I've loved doing stories with you guys, especially when you've surprised me, and seeing what you've thrown back in retaliation for what I've thrown at you has been a constant source of pleasure.

I don't really know what to say in this announcement. It's hard, I suppose, because this will be my last ever major announcement and, well, I guess it wasn't as difficult as clicking 'post' after the final posts on the RPG.

But I just want to say thank you. Thank you for coming here consistantly every day for however long you've been a member. Thank you for putting effort into your posts and your time here. Thank you for making me laugh, making me sad, making me stupendously angry either by not getting the huge hints I drop you or - the true culprits of many fond memories of enragement - breaking the fucking timing rule and goddamn bloody metagaming. Sometimes I have been so pissed off with some of you and it's been fantastic. So thank you for breaking the fricking rules. Thank you more for sticking by them, and for making your own boards that are almost-almost as good as ACW. Thank you for believing me when I say they're even close to ACW in awesomeness, suckahs. Thanks for having horribly ugly avatars that made me repulsed to look at them. Thanks for having stupidly sexy ones that made me... well. Thanks for being nice to some n00bs and being bastards to others. Thanks for the hilariously melodramatic profiles that have always entertained endlessly. Just thanks. Each one of you that is still here is someone I really consider a person I wanted to have here on ACW. Even Aidan. Sure, there are a couple of people that should be here, but I couldn't have asked for a better bunch to end with.

You're all brilliant and you've really made the board what it is and was.

So thank you.

Now bugger off and stop making fun of the cheesy ending.

Thanks Kit. It really has been a grand, grand experience. And I'm definitely going to miss the randomness, my characters (Azura :wub:) and reading all the stupid auditions we received where we wondered if people had even read the rules. And worried if they had.

So yeah. This will be a fond thing to look back on. It was a great distraction when at uni, it was always fun to be on here mucking around and pissing folk off with my needless computer usage.

Thanks for the memories! (Ew, no, not that Fallout Boy song.)

I'm ever so tempted to keep all of the characters alive in the form of crazed Witch Woods NPCs. Maybe just Caroline. Thanks for the year and five months and nine days. Yes, I just went there and counted. Thanks for being the inspiration behind the new and much better Witch Woods... and thanks for providing it's members! :lol:

It's been really fun playing the air head that is Aidan, and the strange pyromaniac which was Charlotte. It's been fantastic. :)

Oh... and thanks for putting up with me!

Instead of seeing it was ACW closing, see it as one version of Aidan we won't have to endure anymore.

Innyway, I can honestly say this site has been a ridiculously enjoyable one to visit and one that's become ingrained into my daily routine and I honestly can't remember anywhere else on the internet that I've looked forward to visiting. It's gonna be really weird not to log on and read some of the characters wacky antics (and yes, I'll also miss logging on and staring at a page for hours as KT would accuse me of doing :D).

So, I've been told I should gush for ACW's sake, let out all the cheese and stuff. But I can't. Obviously all the cheese has been used up by Mek and Paige's 'United States of America' thingy.

I thank Kt, like the rest, obviously. It is common knowledge that nerve cells do not rebuild themselves, and I just feel all cozy and nice inside knowing that most probably half of Kit's nerve system went out on us :wub: That she cared that much, that is. Not that her mental health has been irreperably wrecked.

I wanna give her a big, awesome, shiny present, but I'm currently prohibited from leaving the country. ^_^ That, and she doesn't like my boobs <_<

I would gush and cheese and everything, but... well, the spirit of ACW knows me, hears me and needs no words from me. <3333

Wow. What can anyone say? ACW has become a huge part of my life! In the past few years, Kit, it's brought me more happiness and more sadness than other parts of my life. I remember arguments over ACW and laughter, much much laughter.

It's safe to say we'll never forget it.

Thanks, Kit, for all your effort and all the lost hours of sleep you put into keeping ACW alive.

I'm not great with the "Thank You" speeches and I think that the sentiments I feel have already been covered at length by everyone else (except Lirie because I never have any fucking clue as to what she's rambling on about). Regardless, goodbye, ACW!
