A land made of carpets... oooohhhh...

::The people of this land arrive with Abby and Josie.::

"Quick, beneath the mystical land of the gods!"

::He dives under one of the carpets and starts crawling around, going deeper under... carpet.::

"My gosh! This carpet would go great in my room... if I had one."

::Jos goes under it.::

::Abby, similarly, dives beneath the rugs. She swims underground, having the time of her life. After a while, she comes face to face with Josie and senses another person in front of her.::

"Hello! Who's this?"

::She kisses her.::

"Josie! Sweet meet in the darkness."

::She continues downwards.::

::Josie giggles a lot and blushes to a shade close to scarlet. Good thing it's dark.::

::Kohan and Dicevii follow suit. They burrow deep beneath the carpets and find Macha, then call out for Abby and Josie to come and find them so they can huddle together.::

::A whiney jabbering is heard above and the thundering of feet over the carpets.::

::O_O::

(We're going to get trampled.)

::Jos makes her way over to the good guys.::

"They're here!"

::Dicevii's whisper is panicked, but they're now beneath layers of carpet and quite well-protected. This world is different from the one Josie at least knows. God knows where that weirdo Abby's been in her life.::

"Hush, now."

::Abby pops up from below, where she'd been happily swimming away. She can't see, but she can hear and feel the presence of the others.::

"Shall I go above and pwn them for you? I have been told I am quite the pwner of man and beast alike."

"No - you mustn't! It is too dangerous!"

::Kohan reaches out to where she can hear Abby speaking from and fingers her in the face by mistake before sliding down and grabbing her wrist, wanting to emphasise her point.::

"They are vicious and have slaughtered us in hundreds."

"What exactly are they?"

"The Lalalas."

"La la la la la la..."

::Abby trails off with her singing, realising it might sound inappropriate.::

"And what now? Do you cower down here all night?"

"... what do they do? What do they look like?"

"Hideous and foul beasts! They run on seventeen legs, scattering across the lands and devouring all in their wake..."

::Dicevii's voice is grand, majestic and horrific as he speaks.::

"Not so!"

::Macha's voice cuts over the other man's in the pitch blackness.::

"They walk on two legs, like us. They have long snouts with which they sniff out our kind and vacuum lips to suck out our souls with!"

"What nonsense the both of you speak!"

::Kohan snorts, shaking her head and reaching out to see which of the boys' hair she can pull. She finds none of them, so just continues in a matter-of-fact voice.::

"They are four-legged and white-haired. It grows long and shaggy over their bodies, apart from their chests and mouths and paws which are brown as dirt and thick as leather. They scream and tear you limb from limb."

"You two rave. It is legs seventeen!"

::Abby raises a sceptical eyebrow, starting to doubt the validity of any of the three's descriptions.::

::Josie almost laughs.::

"So, none of you actually know what it looks like?"

(That much is clear...)

::Dicevii looks through the darkness at his sister and Macha.::

"... our eyes do not adjust so quickly as theirs... often they come when it is black and they are too fast to see properly..."

::The stampeding above seems to have died down. The Lalalas might have left.::

"Oh! That makes sense! Did you ever try to use fire against them seeing as they don't seem to like light? Cos that could totally work! And it would be great if it did because then you wouldn't have to go carpet diving every night!

(!!)

"I like carpet diving. It is great fun."

::Abby is musing to herself.::

"We run. It is all we can do."

::Macha's hand snakes out and finds Abby's, holding it warmly. He wants to comfort her. It's obvious the poor girl is terrified.::

"It sounds like they're gone..."

::Josie would be jealous if she could see such a thing. Good thing she can't! Then again, does Josie get jealous?::

::Not afraid in the slightest, Abby squeezes Macha's hand comfortingly and then pulls her own away. She rolls over in the folds of the carpets, turning to rest on her back. She listens.::

"Josie is right. I cannot hear anything."

"Then perhaps it is safe to surface. Only for a time. The Lalalas are swift on their feet and capable of much stealth. We may rise only to move on."

"I will check. Macha, hold my foot."

::She waits until she feels a firm grip around her foot and makes her way through the overlapping layers of carpet to the surface. She can just poke her head out of the folds, and no further. She's already dragged Macha up a little. She peers into the darkness, trying to see.::

"It appears clear."

::Suddenly Kohan is torn upwards, from Macha's grip and away from the group. Her screams are heard ringing into the night and then she, and whatever took her, is gone.::

"Kohan!"

::Both Dicevii and Macha swim upwards, thrashing their way above the carpets and into the cool night air. Kohan's brother leaps to his feet and screams for his sister, fists clenched and spinning on his feet to view every angle.::

"KOHAN!"

::Abby gasps, wide-eyed, and reaches out for Josie. When she finds her, a great shift in the carpets shows the nymph's use of power as great trunks of tree separate material into a path which the two are lifted along by various plantlife. A mound is created on the surface, of soil and plants and branches, which Abby and Josie rise from and are placed genially on their feet. The nymph darts to and fro, searching.::

"What happened?"

"They took her. They took her."

::Dicevii rounds on Macha, anger flaring his nostrils and jetting steam into the air.::

"This is your fault! You were supposed to hold her!"

::He swings his body and connects a strong punch with Macha's jaw.::

::Macha's head twists to the side, but seconds later he's leapt on top of Dicevii and is grappling him to the ground.::

"Do not hold me for this, child!"

::They begin to struggle with one another, snarling and growling and lashing out.::

::Abby offers what she usually does in such situations (in most situations).::

"Oh!"

"HEY!!"

::Josie smokes over there.::

"Cut it out! Killing each other won't help anything!"

::She tries to settle down their emotions, calming them down.::

::Macha's expression changes and he sighs, getting up and offering a hand to Dicevii.::

"We are both frustrated. Let us not take it out on one another."
