Background information: Velma was raised by her grandparents from a young age, her parents having died in a car crash. The house in which they lived was over one hundred years old, it had history. It was in this house that Velma swore she awoke to find the ghost of a young boy staring at her from the bottom of her bed. Her grandparents dismissed it as the stories of a child, but this kick started Velma's fascination with the dead. As she grew older she would often visit graveyards and just sit and stare at the various headstones, taking her time to examine each and every one of them. She was curious about the people who the graves belonged to and wondered if they still existed somehow. Somewhere.

Once her grandparents died, Velma sold their house and has led a nomadic life style of sorts since then. She has never settled in a place long unless it has held her interests for one reason or another.
