Title: Powers

Prieto - December 21, 2003 07:53 PM (GMT)
Since there is a thread about peoples av's and quotes, why not start a Power thread.
Talk about your own, or other peoples, powers. Like your own powers? Want some other?(Not that you can get others now...or...can you?)

I personally am oh so very satisfied with my powers. Controlling electric stuff rules.

Link. - December 21, 2003 07:55 PM (GMT)
My powers suck ass. I can't belive Sam got good powers before me! The source said when he got some powers from his sources he would grant them to me! <_<

Blaze - December 21, 2003 08:00 PM (GMT)
I think that Prieto's and Vince's powers are by far the most useful. After all, there is a huge range of possibilities with them, it's not just one power. hmmmmm... i wonder if it's possible to steal powers...

Petunius - December 21, 2003 08:07 PM (GMT)
True, Vince's power does kick ass. I'm assuming that he can literally freeze people with it. Chadwick's got a pretty cool power as well. I'm a sucker for anything elemental.

As for my own power, I'm still undecided as to whether having an inbuilt forcefield is a good or a bad thing. My main gripe with it is that the trigger seems to rely on my being attacked first so going out and practicing it like others do seems to be a bit of a problem. I still don't know if it only works against other powers or whether it can be used to block physical attacks as well. Oh well, here's to a speedy power progression.

Prieto - December 21, 2003 08:07 PM (GMT)
eep! *hides from Blaze*

I think mind control is very useful. Just be creative...
Vince's power is cool. So is Chadwicks...oh yes it is!

I wonder when The mighty Charmed Ones are gonna use their powers...

Blaze - December 21, 2003 08:11 PM (GMT)
Yep, elemental powers are the best, that's why I said Prieto and Vince. I guess I forgot Chadwick. Oh, and me thinks practicing powers like Link is extremely lame. I mean, it's nice to use them, but just using your power for the sake of it?

P.S: No offence Prieto, but it's spelled control, unlesss I'm very much mistaken...

Link. - December 21, 2003 08:13 PM (GMT)
Sorry Blaze! But I need good powers! The game could be much more fun if I could actually attack Chadwick.

Blaze - December 21, 2003 08:20 PM (GMT)
Hint: there is more than one way to attack somebody. Use your imagination.
E-Balls™ are not the only method...

Prieto - December 21, 2003 08:20 PM (GMT)
Complain to the source Link. If you dare...

Sorry Blaze. I'm no native speaker. Bare over my spelling/grammar mistakes...or...dont?

element powers are very cool! We have Ice, Wind, Electricity...no water? Fire? Earth?

Windy's power might not be passive, but its damn cool. Invisibility rules!(It's related to wind, right?)

Moony - December 21, 2003 09:57 PM (GMT)
I have really shit powers, well Moony does. Energy balls and blinking, pretty standard. Have I even used the energy balls yet? No, because there are other ways to get to people ;)

Link, you have to be patient if you want more powers. The Soutrce isn't going to grant them will nilly, only if he thinks you deserve them.

I really like Lunk's cloning power cause it's just funny. Vince's ice power makes fore hours of amusement.

Blaze - December 21, 2003 10:11 PM (GMT)
Rgiht, oh gerat spelelr...

Anyways, I came here late(Last time...) and there was no mention of moony's powers anywhere. So I wasn't really sure until now.

Chadwick - December 21, 2003 10:35 PM (GMT)
thanks everybody for bragging on Chadwick powers. I think they rock as well. Link what do you mean about the cant attack me thing?

Kellan - December 21, 2003 10:37 PM (GMT)
I think I take over the Fire elemental area, with my monopoly over fireballs and all. I love my powers, very handy.

Blaze - December 21, 2003 10:40 PM (GMT)
Fire balls? Nifty. But it's more of a standart power. Like I can't claim energy balls are electricity.

Chadwick - December 21, 2003 10:58 PM (GMT)
I like my power over the wind but I would rather of recieved maybe something different. I no this is off subject  but i think it would be cool if we could be certain types of demons and magickal creatures, like theres rat demons, nymphs, leprechauns, and other things. I just think it would be cool.

Kellan - December 21, 2003 11:03 PM (GMT)
It would be cool until you ended up having to play a leprechaun. That's not a role many would want.

Chadwick - December 21, 2003 11:06 PM (GMT)
actually i wouldnt mind it at all. as long as they had the same powers from Charmed. (Duh its ACW)

Sam - December 22, 2003 01:01 AM (GMT)
My powers rock! The only down side is like...everyone else can blink and stuff and I can't. I might need to get un apartment above ground since the Lab's lairs are all shimmer/blink entry only.

The only other drawback to my power is that unlike all your powers, my powers can only be used in hand to hand/close up combat. I was kinda hoping for a projectile power....

But like I was saying, my powers rock! I kinda like Marc's as well...I was imagined it would be cool to phase, cause hes kinda like invincible since you can never hit him....

With like deflection, can you send the power back at the other person?

kaytee83 - December 22, 2003 09:09 AM (GMT)
The deflection power Petunia... us... has right now can only absorb powers. But it might develop. Why not practise with a friend by getting them to surprise attack you?

I think Moony is the perfect example of how powers don't have to matter at all. She's a brilliant character, and never does anything... well, you know what I mean.

And Sam, about your lack of blinking and shimmering... either that's a mistake on my behalf, or you shouldn't underestimate just how fast you can run ^_^

Luke - December 22, 2003 02:20 PM (GMT)
Word. The powers aren't that big of a deal. They can all develop into more stronger abilities. After all, we are all new to the craft. Sure, my power isn't an offensive one or a defensive one (unless making Lenin materialize between me and an incoming energy ball) but I think it is rather entertaining. Lenin just makes my character more interesting with the brillance that shines from his presence. Or something to that effect.

Link. - December 22, 2003 02:24 PM (GMT)
I mean that I am to weak to attack you. The game could be more interresting if I could attack you. Both for me and alll others.

Luke - December 22, 2003 02:28 PM (GMT)
That's where practicing your powers come into play. One spammed post will not automatically grant you a power progression. While you are at it, practicing spelling or using a spell check program of sorts will make this world more interesting. For me, as well as everyone else.

Link. - December 22, 2003 02:35 PM (GMT)
I like Chadwicks and Vinces powers.

Ps This is my third language, Luke!

Prieto - December 22, 2003 02:52 PM (GMT)
[major spam post]Can I say I think this has gone slightly off topic? On a little...

But Luke, Link and I are not native speakers...at all. I personally look up a word when I dont know how to spell it...but ofcourse it is annoying to see grammar and spelling mistakes. I dont blame you *sighs* [/major spam post]

Back to powers...
I dont get why so many wants passive powers. But ofcourse I can say what I want, because of my power. Meh.
Hey, Kellan. What is your power? I came too late to see what it was...

Luke - December 22, 2003 02:58 PM (GMT)
You can always refer to this thread, Prieto. Also, Link, please explain why you enjoy those powers rather than wasting space.

Windy - December 27, 2003 03:28 AM (GMT)
I would have love to have Chadwick's power ._.

Invisibility is good. I found nothing wrong with it, but having the power of Wind is better from my point of view.

I guess I was one post too late eh...?

You know, I was going to suggest something lame such as sitting on my lonesome ass and pretending I'm being attacked so that I can get to know the trigger, but this is even better.

Luke - January 1, 2004 08:16 PM (GMT)
Powers. Mmm. They are delectable. Now, we have already mentioned how we like certain people's abilities. How about interesting possibilities of power growth and development?

I know that Vince is basically Iceman from X-Men, though I can't remember if he is capable of coating himself in an ice layer at this time. Perhaps this progression is a bit repetitive (or at least a part of it is) but what if he obtained the ability to mentally create ice clones or ice animals (or perhaps mental control over organisms indigenous to the colder parts of the world)? I think that could be an interesting development in his powers. What do the rest of you think?

Vince - January 1, 2004 08:46 PM (GMT)
"Eat polar bear and die, tool!"

::Vince shuts his eyes and a polar bear runs into the room and bites off Link's head::

Yes, I see that working.

Petunius - January 2, 2004 12:52 PM (GMT)
That could work. The more violent, the better. It'd be interesting to see how a power such as premonition could progress, seeing as the "progression" we've seen on the show is pure shite.

As for Petunius' power, I see it slowly progressing to the point where he can not only absorb magical attacks, but physical ones as well. Then, once it has progressed into actual deflection, like the name states, maybe the location of the forcefield can be moved accordingly. So, for example, a forcefield can be placed around the subject of offence essentially containing it in a trap. The picture that comes to mind is of that warlock in "When Bad Warlocks Go Good". Then after that, who knows, maybe it can grow to the point where the forcefield can contract while the victim is still inside and crush them, thus creating an effect similar to implosion.

Yes, I have given this far too much time and thought than it actually deserves. I now need to go get a life.

But where is the fun in that?

Topic? Oh, yes. Ahem. I wonder what would happen if Chloe was stuck in mid-transformation. That would be an interesting development with a human/eagle hybrid. How something like this could happen? Well, that's something you can talk about that here.

Luke - January 2, 2004 01:19 PM (GMT)
(Edited by me because I deleted Link's fucking stupid spam. Jesus christ will you stop it!?)

Hmm. To add to the Chloe power development, I wonder if the hybrid would be the height of the average of her human and bird form or if it will be a human-sized figure with bird characteristics.

Petunius - January 2, 2004 04:28 PM (GMT)
Heh. Just had a Bart Simpson half-human/ half-fly flashback there.

Blaze - January 2, 2004 04:50 PM (GMT)
(I took Link's spam out so this is obsolete now. No offence to the legit posts I edited)

To form a weird "Mutant X" Flashback, Prieto's power can escalate into her being able to transform herself into electricity/energy. That would be quite cool indeed.

Prieto - January 2, 2004 05:01 PM (GMT)
Yup, with the power thing, Blaze. I was thinking about that too....ofcourse I also thought I could go through people and paralyze them, things of that nature. But then again...I have to practice *chough*

I was thinking about Blaze's mind-power. Maybe he could take over bodies for a short while? Ver Xavier like..

All I can picture is an Egyptian god or something. I should get me a nice skimpy outfit with metal inlay etc. If inlay is even a right word there...

Windy - January 2, 2004 05:09 PM (GMT)
Hmm... Jubilee isn't it? The girl who controls electricity?

Hmm... Invisibility, can't think of a mutant with that power.

Bleh.

Invisibility is nice. I think.

But I quite like it.

I'm still abit jealous of Chadwick's power though.

Blaze - January 2, 2004 05:11 PM (GMT)
Sure there is a mutant with that power. Forgot her name, though. Was one of the first episodes.

Honestly, I can't think of anything that MC can develop into. What's the difference between possesing and simply MC'ing? Ah, whatever.

Vince - January 2, 2004 05:51 PM (GMT)
Mind controlling could grow so you could place mental blocks in people's heads. Triggers or something. So if they escape and then come back again at a certain time trying to kill you then the trigger would be activated and the outcome you programmed into their head would happen. Like... they would lose their memory if they tried to attack you, or they would start to think they were a cat. That made sense to me at any rate.

Chloe's power could be the shiznay. She could turn into Hawkgirl. Maybe grow her wings and keep her human form at the same time. Or grow the talons on her feet and become a psycho killer kick boxer. Maybe she could eventually learn how to shapeshift into other types of bird/objects as well.

Petunius' shield could absorb physical attacks and then give him the strength from them, or reflect back the energy behind them. Kinda like Shinobi Shaw, or his brother, from the Hellfire club. Or the shield could reverse the enertia of the attack and send the attackee flying. Like Eames did when Prue and Piper tried to freeze/tk him.

And Jubilee doesn't have the electric power, she creates blobs of energy that she can control and detonate at will.

Whoa, long post.

Lirie - January 2, 2004 06:02 PM (GMT)
My power is on a verge of becoming officially lame. I was kinda silently hoping for an active power, because I've got a tendency to get people to try and kill me, but instead I got the power to tranceform myself into a lethal, wrathful and unspeakably dangerous puddle of water.

Beware of Lirie! For she can... umm... drip on you! I can actually see the adds in the local papers: "Spotted a spiteful puddle of water soaking through people's shoes and ruining their socks. Be afraid! Be very afraid..." :P

About Blaze's MC... I was wondering if it's possible that it'll progress into controlling minds of dead people and build himself an undead army. Err... bad idea... Blaze with an unbreakable army... why don't I like the idea?

I don't think there is an X-Men with my power...

And to conclude with a question... does anyone have any idea to what powers can progress?
