Title: It's a frickin' game people.
Description: Just a game.

Blaze - January 2, 2004 04:58 PM (GMT)
You know, I think people are taking this game way too seriously. And I mean WAAAAAAAAAY Too seriously. Come on, I don't like recieving PM's with Flames, member bashing and offensive comments. And neither do I like reading those posts on the boards. So for everyone involved(And those people know who am I reffering to), IT'S JUST A GAME! Not clear? THIS IS JUST A GAME![U]

THIS IS A FUCKING GAME!

Prieto - January 2, 2004 05:04 PM (GMT)
Wow Blaze...I think some people are taking this pretty seriously, Yes. But they can, cant they?

If you have received member bashing PM's, you should report it to a an admin...

I think ACW is a great place, I mean...I can get away from the real world. *sighs*

Blaze - January 2, 2004 05:09 PM (GMT)
I'm not saying that people shouldn't play seriously. But when it escalates into insults and threats, then it's a bit serious, don't you think?

Prieto - January 2, 2004 05:12 PM (GMT)
Well, unless it is the character, and not the 'author', it shouldnt be a problem. but if they really mean it...yeah. That is pretty wrong.

Is it about the "Blaze is a thread to us" thing?

Blaze - January 2, 2004 05:14 PM (GMT)
Quite the contrary, I liked the "Blaze is a threat" thing. But that was then, and this is now. And I usually Ignore those PM's. But if you want to know what I'm talking about, look around the general chat. Also, character hate is okay, but what I'm saying is let's not get confused between the game and the outside, shall we?

Chloe - January 2, 2004 05:12 PM (GMT)
Hmm. Yes, Blaze you are right. But if you are receiving PMs that, in your personal opinion, count as member bashing, you should report it to an admin or moderator as soon as possible. Don't even bother responding to it. A warning will work just as well as a snappy comeback. Plus, you don't want to become a member basher yourself, do you?

Windy - January 2, 2004 05:21 PM (GMT)
Hmm... Well, always go to a higher power of knowledge for consultant.

That's what I reckon. If there are none or it's not fitting, then luck it yourself.

This is a game, as Prieto said, it's a game alright, and people should become serious IN chaarcter. If it's author personal, then reprt it! Report it!

If you ignore it, then it'll just get worst.

That's what I reckon.

Prieto - January 2, 2004 05:21 PM (GMT)
Completely fair. Or...however you spell it.

You shouldnt ignore those PM's though. Member bashing is a strickt rule, and everyone should respect it.

[/failed try to sound professional]

Also, a bit OT perhaps:

Can the Admins/Mods read PM's I sent to other members? Or can they know how many messages I recieved from a certain person?

Vince - January 2, 2004 05:58 PM (GMT)
If you fwd the PMs to us we can read them, but other than that us lowly mods can't read anything thats not sent to us. KT may be able to as she has the admin powers, likewise with the knowing how many messages have been sent. Just start fwding all offensive emails to us and we'll see that the perp is sent down.

Lirie - January 2, 2004 06:16 PM (GMT)
Member bashing? I never thought that kind of thing existed.

Now that's not nice! It's kinda hard for me to understand who would want to do this kind of thing. I mean... you almost-killed me three times and the thought of member bashing never crossed my mind (the baseball thing doesn't count). Yes, occasional thought of "What did I do to you", but it never got up to the point where I thought attack you verbally would be appropriate...

Poor Blazey... though I'm not a big fan of snitching, I think you really should fwd all... abusive (?) PMs.

kaytee83 - January 2, 2004 06:50 PM (GMT)
Ah, nothing like raging outbursts to pepper your Friday. Let me just go over small details first:

As has already been stated, yes, you should be reporting these abusive PMs to Administration. I too have noticed sniping and griping in the OOC forum, and it's unfair. Like you said, Blaze, we need to distinguish between characters and the people behind them. Someone might be playing a character we all hate, but the real person is lubbly - it is an RPG, you know?

Being an Admin, I have to take everything seriously. Why? I just do. That's why. But you're right, this is just a game. Albeit, a very good game ( :P ) so it's fair to get a little heated if you think you're being bullied or unfairly treated.

I reckon a crackdown is needed. After much discussion, the moderators and I have noted that there are a couple of below-par players who, had we another chance, should not have gotten past the audition. Not the main body of you are doing just great, but if you think you could be doing better, I suggest you do it, because if the situation worsens, we may decide to take action. Mmm, action.

Anyways, onto the actual issue at hand here - member bashing, hey, stop it! As has been stated, it's fine to dislike a character, so I'm sure most people won't mind if there's any mutterings about so and so because they did this and that, but do not attack any user. Punishments will be severe. Oh so severe! Mwa ha ha ha!

Ahem.

On a completely different topic, spam will be deleted. That is, any pointless post that adds nothing to the thread. Geez.

The Powers That Be - January 2, 2004 06:56 PM (GMT)
Admin cannot read any PMs. That would be invading privacy. We're too kind to do that... also... it's just not an available feature. Damn.
