[Luke's room. How obvious.]

:: The Doctor walks in, and pulls the curtain away from around the bed and begins to set everything up for the examination. ::

::Luke enters the room, eyeing the doctor.::

"Do you want me to lie down on the bed?"

:: The Doctor raises an eyebrow at Luke's statement, and nods. ::

"That would be the general idea."

"All right, then."

::Luke approaches the bed and leans the shillelagh against a nearby chair. He hoists himself up and lies down on the bed.::

:: The Doctor pulls the curtain around the bed and steps towards Luke. She takes one look at his leg. ::

"They'll have to come off."

:: She picks up the scissors and begins to cut at the material of Luke's trousers which is covering the wound. She does this carefully of course. ::

::Luke gapes, looking at the scissors cutting away the fabric.::

(I could have taken them off, you know...)

:: The Doctor glances up when she is finished. ::

"Don't give me that look. It's not as if they were expensive."

:: She smiles and begins to examine the wound. ::

(You'd be surprised.)

::Luke whistles a tune before asking the doctor his question.::

"Think I'll need surgery, doc?"

:: The Doctor looks up. ::

"No, I think we can get all of this glass out without putting you right under. That is, unless you think you can't take the discomfort you'll feel during a local anistetic?"

"I really don't care either way. Just do what you see fit."

"All right."

:: The Doctor takes one last look at the leg wound. ::

"I'll have a nurse come get you ready for this."

:: The doctor leaves ::

::Luke watches the doctor leave and picks up the shillelagh from the chair. He feels the smooth texture of the cane and puts it down again, waiting for the nurse.::

(Wonder where in the hell they got that cane from...)

:: A nurse walks in with sutcher, removing glass type stuff and begins setting it up around Luke's bed. ::

"Not afraid of needles are you?"

"If I can stand glass shards embedded in my leg, a needle's no problem."

"If you say so."

:: The Nurse smirks and swabs an area in Luke's leg, before placing the needle in and administiring the anestetic. ::

"As soon as that's numb, I'll start."

"It's probably not going to take much. Couldn't feel too good in the leg, anyway."

::Luke looks to his leg, then signals to the Nurse with a faint smile.::

"It's numb, all right."

:: The Nurse's eyes wander to Luke's crotch for a second and smirk can be seen. She picks up the tweasers and sits down next to the bed, and being careful, grabs the first piece of glass and begins to pull it out of Luke's leg before thwoing it in the nearby tray. ::

"Naughty nurses. It's like I'm in a porno flick. I did see what you were looking at. How is it down there? Not my cock. My actual leg, that is."

:: The Nurse "accidently" jars a piece of glass to the side as she is taking it out of Luke's leg. ::

"You'll still have it as long as you behave."

:: She smiles at him sweetly. ::

"Yes, ma'am. Now, how long will I have to stay in here, assuming that I do have to have a hospital stay?"

:: The Nurse doesn't look up as she busies finishing off Luke's leg. ::

"Oh I'm sure we could make arrangements for you to leave as soon as possible."

"What type of arrangements are you alluding to, exactly?"

:: The Nurse glances up at Luke, a strange smile on her face. ::

"I'll let you work that out for youself, Mr Morgenstern"

:: Finishing removing the glass, she begins to stitch Luke's leg up. ::

"Do you treat all of your patients like this?"

"Only the special ones."

:: The Nurse states still not looking up. Once the wound is stitches, she puts a dressing on it. ::

"You really know how to do your job. So, what now?"

::He looks to his ruined jeans, sighing as he really didn't care about them that much anymore.::

:: The Nurse glances over the runied jeans. ::

"Well, you'll need to come back to have your sitches removed in a week or so."

"So...am I free to go or do I have to do something...else?"

"Apart from sign your release forms, there is nothing else. Unless you are referring to something other than that?"

(Great, so she wasn't making sexual innuendos? So interesting how easily I can make an ass out of myself...)

"I'll take the release forms."

:: The Nurse smirks and then leaves to get the release forms. ::

::Luke sits up and gets out of the bed slowly. He gets the shillelagh to help him move around.::

:: The Nurse comes back in with the release papers and hands them out to Luke. ::

"Just sign and you're free to go."

::Luke signs the release papers and hands them, along with the pen to the Nurse. He takes the shillelagh with him and walks to The Magic Shop.::

::Nick comes in and sits down, waiting for Luke to be brought in.::

(How the hell am I going to explain this?)

::After a bit, Luke is wheeled in on a bed. Luke, you can wake up when you like, and leave when you like, but it'll probably take a while til you're back to your full strength. The doctor smiles at Nick.::

"Make sure you go with him, he needs a good looking after, full hands-on care."

::He winks and leaves.::

::Nick smiles at the doc as he watches him go. He looks down at Luke, sighing.::

(I might go and get my nose sorted before he wakes up...)

::So, with that in mind, he's off to the entrance.::

::Nick comes into the room and takes a seat next to Luke's unconcious body, waiting patiently for him to wake up.::

(So he can tell me what the hell's going on.)

::Luke remains asleep.::

::Nick continues to wait.::
