Dreamwalking is a power which requires a bit of knowledge from the receivers, as well as those who possess it. Here is what happens should a character with this power use it on you.
If you are sleeping, passed out or unconcious, you are subject to this power. It happens when the character with the power sits beside you, and concentrates on using this power. If the dreamwalker has succeeded, you will know from the emboldened part in their post, followed by a question.
QUOTE
::Power begins to dreamwalk. What is your dream, Ben?::
This is your cue to respond. As "Ben" in this example, you would be required to tell the dreamwalker what your current dream is. Make it up. It can have everything or nothing to do with your character's current situation. However, you must respond. Use the square brackets to detail a dream. You may also include actions in your post, but it is by no means necessary. The dream is what's important.
QUOTE
[Ben is in a field with a lot of little bunnies jumping around. He feels calm and content.]
As stated before, you can add actions, like ::Ben rolls over and sighs.:: "Boobity doobity do..." mumbling in your sleep and suchlike, but it's not important.
Your dream is then subject to three options by the dreamwalker. They may choose to continue watching your dream, in which case you're required to post again, or they might also manipulate it. The dreamwalker can do pretty much whatever they want in your dream, and can control every aspect should they wish to. Whatever they make happen, happens. This might affect your character when they're awake, or it might not. The dreamwalker might make your dreams better or worse, and all can take its toll on your waking character.
If your dream is manipulated, the dreamwalker will then state if they're leaving the dream, or staying to watch. If they stay, you'll be required to post again. If they leave, you do not need to post. You may or may not wake up. A dreamwalk being over does not mean your character needs to wake up.
Here is a full example.
QUOTE
[Ben is in a field with a lot of little bunnies jumping around. He feels calm and content.]
QUOTE
[Dreamwalker enters the field and smiles at Ben.]
QUOTE
[Ben recognises Dreamwalker from somewhere, he's seen her before, but can't remember where. He picks up a bunny and gives it to the dreamwalker.]
QUOTE
[Dreamwalker grins at Ben and accepts the rabbit, before savagely tearing it in two, emphasising in the dream the blood and gore of it all. Ben feels horrified, shocked, frightened and ultimately terrorised at this action. Dreamwalker exits the dream.]
::The dreamwalker sits back and looks down at Ben, wondering what sort of effect her actions in his dream might have taken.:: |
