Title: The Editor's Office

Carys - March 30, 2004 03:02 PM (GMT)
::Carys thanks the receptionist and follows her directions to 'his' office::

(Well, here goes nothing.)

::She knocks softly on the door and walks in, a small smile on her face::

(Please let him be hot, please let him be hot, please let him be hot...)

Jason Dean - March 30, 2004 07:36 PM (GMT)
::Jason looks up from the paperwork on his desk and raises his eyebrows.::

"Um, hi. Did you have an appointment?"

Carys - March 30, 2004 07:39 PM (GMT)
(Mmm...nice.)

"Um...not exactly. I phoned earlier and your receptionist said that if I came down straight away, you'd be able to interview me quickly. My name's Carys, by the way."

Carys - March 30, 2004 08:00 PM (GMT)
::Carys sits down on a chair opposite Jason, and wipes her hand on her skirt::

(Sweaty, talkative man...just my type.)

"No drink for me, thanks. Yeah, I've always been interested in journalism, so when I found out about the job, I looked into it immediately."

Jason Dean - March 31, 2004 06:05 PM (GMT)
"Excellent, excellent, that's what I like to hear. My, I'm sure people have said it before, but you really do bear a striking resemblence to Dido, that Brit singer woman. She's pretty cool, she looks good. You look good. I like my staff to look good."

::He fumbles about with some papers.::

"Okay, the job itself is weekly reporting. Each week you would draft up a report of what has happened of significance in the World, like this week you'd write about Lirie and Patience getting trapped in their house, Luke losing his senses, Piper becoming a child, the thought-hearing spell, yadda yadda, and the point is so that if any of the players leave for a day or two, it's not too hard for them to catch up as they can read your reports. Now here at the Bay Mirror, I encourage opinion columns. I want good, informative reporting, but you could feel free to throw in a few quips, witty one-liners, your thoughts and views et cetera, anything you want, it's your column, your words."

::He leans back and pauses.::

"What're your thoughts so far?"

Carys - April 1, 2004 10:16 PM (GMT)
"Well, I think that sounds great. A good challenge, anyway."

(Me? Witty one-liners? I wish.)

"You said you wanted opinions, but what kind of style are you looking for? I take it you want it to be chatty, or would have to be factual? And what kind of pay would I be looking at?"

Jason Dean - April 2, 2004 12:04 PM (GMT)
"A little of both, my dear Carys, which I might add is a great name. You make sure you record all the facts, see now you'd have to add all this business about the Wiccan kidnapping Paz, seemingly, and Luke's new 'friends', so it really is a hefty job you'd be undertaking. However, you could also add snarky thoughts on the events, like, last thing we need is even more Lenins and Lysanders et cetera... are you following me here?

As for payment, since you're non-magical (not that I know about that world) I can't give you powers or anything, and we don't operate with money here in ACW, but I can assure you receive star-treatment, become a household name, and get free clothes, stuff like that, as well as a couple of great storyline thrown at you."

Carys - April 3, 2004 01:24 PM (GMT)
::Carys grins slightly at Jason's compliment and winks at him::

"All of that sounds fantastic. I really think this could be the start of something special. If, of course, you're going to take me on?"

::She sits forward in her chair, looking Jason straight in the eyes::

"I'd be so grateful."

Jason Dean - April 4, 2004 09:04 PM (GMT)
::Jason is caught a little off guard by the direct eye contact, and stares back, mesmerised. He soon regains his senses, gives himself a little shake, and stands up.::

"Welcome aboard, Carys. I'm looking forward to seeing your first article. Pick a day you want to publish on, and try to stick with it. Then we'll print your work every week on that day. It could be a Friday, Sunday, whatever you want, just get in touch with KT for the technicalities of posting it and all, she'll tell you what to do."

::He shakes her hand once again and grins.::

"Of course, if you need anything else, I'm right here for you..."

Carys - April 4, 2004 09:37 PM (GMT)
::Carys stands up and keeps hold of Jason's hand feeling her palm tingle::

(Mmm...)

"Lucky me."

::She grins back up at Jason and releases his hand::

"It was great meeting, you, boss."

::Carys shoots Jason a quick look from under her eyelashes, and turns on her heels, leaving the Bay Mirror and heading back to her apartment::

Jason Dean - April 4, 2004 09:57 PM (GMT)
::Jason couldn't help but staring at Carys' ass as she walked out. Once the door is shut, he sits down and sighs.::

"Ah. They're everywhere!"

(Yet I can't get this one off my mind...)

::He sets back to work.::

Carys - October 13, 2004 04:13 PM (GMT)
::Carys approaches the offices, but stops suddenly, realising she had Lirie's coat wrapped around her still::

(Oops. I should go back, shouldn't I? Go and give her coat back; I'd want my coat back if someone walked off with it...)

::She turns on her heel and walks back the way she came, towards the beach::

Luke - January 31, 2005 11:27 AM (GMT)
::Luke walks over to the office, glancing over to see another door briefly that said "Phoebe Halliwell". He sits down, waiting for whoever.::

(Phoebe works here? Hmm.)

Jason Dean - January 31, 2005 12:02 PM (GMT)
::Jason enters and shakes Luke's hand, smiling warmly as he does so.::

"So, you're interested in working for us here at The Bay Mirror?"

::He takes a seat in his chair, reclining slightly and intertwining his fingers.::

"You could start by telling me about you, as I have no idea what your name is..."

Luke - January 31, 2005 04:03 PM (GMT)
"Yes, I am."

::He sits down, across from Jason after the handshake.::

"My name's Lucas Morgenstern. What's your name...?"

::Seeing the obvious name stand/paperweight thingy, he chuckles lightly.::

"...Mr. Dean. Nevermind. Anyway, I noticed the sign out front and I figured that perhaps I could get a job here. There's a time in a person's life when they need to stop using their trust fund and actually, you know, work. With this position, what exactly would you expect of me if I am I offered it?"

Jason Dean - January 31, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
::Jason nods and smiles.::

"Well, Mr. Morgenstern, the possition we're advertising for would be that of a news reporter. The brief would be to write a weekly report on the events in the World. One where you record any occurences, large or small. It's kind of like a summary of the week so far..."

::As he speaks, he gestures with his hand, also following his own internal dialogue.::

(Ok, Carys was hot. But she hasn't done her job once. Never written a thing. I'll have to get in contact with her and let her go. Shame. I wonder what it'd be like to date someone in the office? Uncomfortable. Yeah. As if i'd ever do that!)

Luke - January 31, 2005 11:36 PM (GMT)
"I think I can manage that...no. I can manage that. I have a way of getting the information at four times the speed. What exactly is the salary, not that I'm doing this solely for money or anything?"

Jason Dean - January 31, 2005 11:48 PM (GMT)
::He takes a piece of paper from infront of him and pulls a pen from the stationery holder next to him. He scribbles the amount on the paper and slides it toward Luke so he can read it.::

"It's a decent enough wage, a writer to do jobs like this will be valued so much by our selves, as well as the citizens of The World."

Luke - January 31, 2005 11:51 PM (GMT)
::He looks to the wage inscribed on the sheet of paper, grinning. Luke looks up to Jason.::

"Hmm. All right. Not bad. Does this mean that I have the job, Mr. Dean?"

Jason Dean - February 1, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
"Well, i'd like to take you on for a trial period, so I can see your skills. Then we'll see from there. Welcome to The Bay Mirror."

::He stands up and extends a hand to shake.::

Luke - February 1, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
::He stands up, completing his part of the handshake.::

"Thank you very much. It's been a pleasure meeting with you and believe me, you will not be disappointed."

::Luke pulls a pen and writes down his address and phone number so that Jason could contact him should he need anything done urgently at the Bay Mirror.::

"Is there anything quick you need me to do before I leave? Or do you need me to start immediately?"

Jason Dean - February 1, 2005 01:07 PM (GMT)
"No, no. Just take your time to complete a sample article and send it to myself via PM so I can check it over and the like. You don't even have to come into the office if you want, youc an work from home."

::He scans the paper as he takes it from Luke, placing it in his pocket.::

Luke - February 1, 2005 01:11 PM (GMT)
"All right. Thank you, Mr. Dean."

::He walks to the door, waving to Jason and leaves his office, then the Bay Mirror returning home.::

Trix - May 22, 2005 04:44 PM (GMT)
::Trix knocks on the door.::

Jason Dean - May 22, 2005 05:00 PM (GMT)
"Come in."

::Jason says, sipping a coffee at his desk.::

Trix - May 22, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
::Trix enters, slightly tentatively. She strolls confidently towards the desk and holds out her hand.::

"Mr Dean. My name is Beatrix Rivers. How do you do?"

Jason Dean - May 22, 2005 05:23 PM (GMT)
"I'm very well, thank you."

::Jason stands to take Trix's hand and grasps it warmly.::

"Jason Dean. What can I do for you?"

Trix - May 22, 2005 05:26 PM (GMT)
"I'm after a job. You don't happen to be in need of an artist/photographer, do you?"

Jason Dean - May 22, 2005 05:35 PM (GMT)
"Could do, I suppose... are you any good?"

(Love asking that question.)

Trix - May 22, 2005 05:36 PM (GMT)
"May I have a seat?"

::Has one.::

"Yes, I am."

Jason Dean - May 22, 2005 05:40 PM (GMT)
"Sorry, should've asked. You know, actually, that sounds like a good feature. 'The week in pictures'. Could get some really powerful images, the readers will love it..."

::Gets all excited like the weirdo he is.::

"Okay, you're on, Beatrix. How does 'the week in pictures' sound?"

Trix - May 22, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
::Trix smiles.::

"It sounds great."

Jason Dean - May 22, 2005 06:05 PM (GMT)
"Excellent. Here's what you do. When you're finished getting the pictures, PM them to Bay Mirror to get them published in your column. This could be great! An excellent companion to Luke's Ledger."

::He pauses.::

"Oh, and your wage of course..."

::He scrawls an amount on some paper. It's generous. He shows her.::

Trix - May 22, 2005 06:08 PM (GMT)
"That will do very nicely, thank you."

::She stands up.::

"You can expect the first instalment soon. Is that all?"

Jason Dean - May 22, 2005 06:11 PM (GMT)
"That's all."

::He also stands up, and shakes her hand again.::

"I'm looking forward to the first installment."

Trix - May 22, 2005 06:13 PM (GMT)
"Thanks. Bye then."

::Leaves.::

Jason Dean - May 22, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
"She was hot."

Phoebe - February 13, 2007 10:33 AM (GMT)
::Phoebe knocks and enters. She gives Jason a timid sort of I'm-going-to-ask-for-a-raise smile.::

"Hey..."

Jason Dean - February 13, 2007 10:37 AM (GMT)
::Jason glances up and gives Phoebe a frown.::

"Take a seat, Phoebe."

(Something's wrong.)

Phoebe - February 13, 2007 11:14 AM (GMT)
::Phoebe smiles briefly and does just that. She plays with her fingers for a while and then laughs nervously.::

"Wow, I've never had to do this before..."
