So you've signed up, passed the audition, and have been given your powers. Now what? You have all these neato powers but... who are you? What's your past? Well, in your past you certainly didn't have these powers, and probably little to no knowledge of the magical world, which will give your new character quite a lot to think about. You can make up your own backstory but please, shy away from ridiculous soap opera sob-stories and other such nonsense where your life was so different and messed up, but somehow your character has turned out level-headed. These backstories - and we have seen some utterly insane ones - do not make your character special. They make your character seem a bit strange and you, the user, over-dramatic and self-important.

However, that's just a personal preference of the staff. You're free to make up whatever you wish, providing the magical-knowledge part above is noted and obeyed.
