Background: His mum's English, his dad's American. They had a divorce and went to their own countries - Nick went with his mum. She developed an alcohol addiction and started dating a drug dealer. His dad came to visit when Nick was 15 and, when he saw the state of his mum, her new boyfriend and the big black-eye of Nick's (caused by the druggie who doens't like him at all), took her to court and gained custody of Nick. They moved to America, an ordinary family. Nick settled in well over in Miami, then he went to university - ever since he saw the court case he wanted to be a lawyer - and studied Law. He left uni and spent the next year travelling, ending up in San Francisco, where we see him get his power.

Misc: Taken part in a few court cases, nothing major yet, won all but 2. He's well off, money-wise.
