[The Powers That Be]

The thick trees often block out the sunlight, so beware of what might lurk around the corner.

[Luke]

::Luke enters the area, quickly glancing the place over for imminent danger. After all, he was barely able to see the tree that was about five feet away from him. He pauses, remembering what Erin had said earlier::

(So...she said that I can practice my power here? And all I have to do is concentrate? Hope this works.)

::He concentrates his energy, hoping to produce a duplicate of himself standing in front of him just like before::

(This better work!)

[Clone]

::Steps out of Luke's body and turns to face him.::

"Hawk reporting to base. Come in base. Chhhhhh!"

::He makes a noise like a radio, and suddenly stops.::

"What is it?"

[Blaze]

::Blaze shimmers into the forest, using a thick bush as cover. He pushes some branches aside, looking around, spotting Luke. He watches, amazed, how the man clones himself::

(Whoa! The hell?!? He must be a witch!)

::He keeps watching the man, a plan brewing in his mind::

(Yes, that may work indeed...)

[Clone]

::Turning around, the clone takes in his surroundings.::

"No really dude, what? We're in a freakin' garden."

::Sighs. Takes a packet of cigarettes from his shirt pocket and places one in his mouth.::

"Got a light?"

[Luke]

"I'm just practicing my power. As for your light, here."

::He pulls the lighter from his pant pocket, flipping off the metal hood. With a firm rub, a flame ignites from the object. He holds out the light to the end of his Clone's cigarette::

"Satisfied?"

[Clone]

::Taking a deep draw from the cigarette, the clone sighs contentedly.::

"You have no idea what it's like being a smoker stuck in a non-smoker body. You should smoke more. Here."

::Places his cigarette in Luke's mouth.::

"Oh don't look so disgusted; we're the same person!"

::Lights another for himself.::

"So. How 'bout them niners?"

[Luke]

"They suck?"

::He pulls the cigarette from his lips, coughing from the inhalation.::

"Do you have any idea how long you can remain...what's that word I'm looking for...corporeal?"

::He kneels to the grass, picking up a leaf. He sparks a light from the lighter. After doing that, Luke touches the flame to the dried leaf, setting it on fire::

"Also, are you basically the flipside of me?"

[Clone]

"I'm whatever you want me to be, baby. Okay, that's a lie. I'm a clone, idiot. I look like you. That's it. I don't have the same personality because I haven't technically been born. Which made me bitter. Oh so very bitter..."

::He pauses, looking into the short-lived glow of the flame.::

"And I have no idea how long I-"

::The clone is cut off when he suddenly disappears, his time having run out.::

[Luke]

"Damn."

(Not very long apparently. At least I got my answer. This forest is very dark.)

::He walks around with caution, passing by the bush that concealed Blaze.::

(I wonder how the hell I'm supposed to get out of here. It's too cluttered and dark for my tastes.)

[Blaze]

::Blaze watches carefully as Luke walks by, unaware of him::

(Let me see now...)

::He shimmers out from his hiding spot after taking a look around. He appears back behind a tree in Luke's path, concealed from his gaze::

(I'm so harmless...)

::He walks casually out of his hiding spot, making sure to be seen by Luke, while pretending to not see him. He looks around the forest a bit, as if lost::

[Luke]

::He pauses, seeing figure walking from behind a tree. Luke runs to Blaze, watching his head rotate in confusion.::

"Excuse me? Do you have any idea how to get out of this place? I'm trying to get to this apartment complex and I haven't the slightest clue where it is."

(Why am I such an idiot? He's looking around like he's lost as well.)

"Unless you are lost yourself, in which case, we can split up and holler if one of us finds a way out. Oh...how rude of me to forget. My name is Luke and you are?"

[Blaze]

::Blaze turns around, facing Luke::

(Wow, talk about talking fast...)

"I'm Kevin, nice to meet you. Or it would be if we weren't in the middle of this damn forest with no clue as to where should we go, wouldn't it?"

::Blaze looks around, spotting a log cabin in the distance::

"Maybe we should go down this road? I think I see something between the trees."

[Luke]

"Ok, then. I'll let you take the lead."

::He looks around, trying to spot the Log Cabin in the darkened woods::

"Mainly because I can't see the damn thing."

(Damn. I need to leave this place and get an apartment. Maybe, there is a telephone there.)

[Blaze]

"Right."

::Blaze begins to head to the log cabin::

(I wonder what should I do after we reach it...)

[Luke]

"Oh...that's what you saw."

::Luke follows Blaze into the conveniently placed Log Cabin::

[Link.]

::Link blinks in and looks at his surrondings.::

"Here I can practise my powers."

::Link looks at a tree and begins shooting energyballs at it.::

"This is fun. I should do it more often."

[Prieto]

::Prieto shimmers in ::

"wow..."

:: She says in a dizzy voice, and leans to a tree ::

(I can walk....when the forest stops spinning)

:: She sits in the damp ground and tries to focus ::

[Link.]

::Link sees the dizzy demon on the ground and stairs.::

"State your intentions demon!"

[Prieto]

::Prieto looks up in shock ::

"E-excuse me?"

:: SHe quickly gets up ::

"Demon? I dont know what...what you're talking about"

(State your intentions...Who is this guy? The demon of dictionaries?)
